In order to be eligible for coverage, such possessions must have been checked in and under the care, custody and control of a commercial airline duly licensed by the appropriate governmental authority in the business of transporting fee paying and ticketed travelers. If the insured luggage is damaged, lost or stolen, notify the proper authorities and your insurance provider immediately. If you're dealing with a baggage delays, your coverage can reimburse you up to the amount listed in the schedule of benefits so you can replace some of your personal items. Reimbursements would be for basic necessities such as clothes and personal hygiene products. The insurer will make sure your baggage was checked-in and was in the custody of whatever commercial airline's flight you were traveling on. Depending on the insurance coverage purchased, if you're on a commercial flight and your plane is delayed for twelve hours or more, you may be entitled to compensation. This insurance protects you against unexpected expenses, but gives travelers a peace of mind. The advantages of this kind of insurance are much greater than the cost of its purchase. Much like evolution and adaptation of insurance, commercial airline ticketing is also shifting to meet people's needs. Not only has this system eliminated the need for a paper ticket, it applies to passenger charges in connection with prepaid tickets.
